Massive rain in Himachal Pradesh has disrupted daily life in the state. Rail tracks have been closed while several highways got blocked as heavy downpours lashed several districts.

In the past three days, heavy rainfall has unleashed chaos and devastation across various parts of North India. According to a report by Reuters, at least 22 lives have been lost, and widespread destruction has ensued. Cities and towns have been severely impacted, with roads and buildings submerged under knee-deep water.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said that it has issued warnings of further downpours expected in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Delhi, and neighbouring areas over the coming days.

Reports of shops being swept away in Manali, vehicles being washed away in flash floods at Nullah in Kullu, Kinnaur and Chamba and loss to agricultural land have also poured in. Several roads have also been closed in Shimla districts.

Three members of a family were killed in a house collapse following a landslide due to rains in Kotgarh area of Shimla district. The dead were identified as Anil, his wife Kiran and son Swapnil, officials said.
